Xiangqi CHEN is an LGBT community facilitator and practitioner. She started a Chinese lesbian website in 2002 and established Shanghai NvAi in 2005, the first grass-root NGO dedicated to queer women in China. From 2008 to 2012, she also founded various community spaces, including Shanghai LGBT Cultural Center and Feminist Café. In 2012, she organized “I Can Seduce, You Can’t Harass,” a performance art campaign against sexual harassment on subway that sparked national debate. In 2013, she worked as the producer of THE VACHINA MONOLOGUES, a documentary that captures the development of THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES in China over 10 years.
