Director‘s Statement:
Xinjiang, as a border region, suffered from underdeveloped medical care in the last century, leading to many serious medical incidents. My aunt, Kalbinur, was one of the victims. Beyond this, numerous hardships and injustices in life forged her into a person of remarkable resilience and diligence. In the first half of her 46 years, there are countless experiences and struggles worthy of being seen, documented, and told.
Through a dual narrative structure weaving together historical and contemporary threads, I aim to present to the audience the story of my aunt's first half of life, along with the everyday existence of an ordinary person born in a frontier region.
